SABINE SCHMITZ

With the sad news that Sabine Schmitz "Queen of the Nurburgring" has sadly passed way we at Rene R Motorsport felt compelled to do something in her memory.
For those of you who do not know much about Sabine as Chris Harris summed her up perfectly after he had heard the news.
"Rest in peace you wonderful, powerful, hilarious person" was what he said and of course he worked with her and held her in high regard and of course she was his friend.
Sabine was a force to be reckoned with behind the wheel of a car, lapping the Nordschliefe faster than most of us can dream of, she truly was the Queen of the Ring.
The Story about the Ford Transit is very famous and she said to Jeremy Clarkson after he bragged about driving a Jaguar S-Type around the Nordshliefe in 9 minutes 59 seconds.
"I tell you something, I do that lap time in a van!"
And thus, the famous Lap around the Nordschliefe in a Transit was born.

Now let us see her drive the wheels off a Porsche 911 Race Car
Now can you see why this amazing lady was so special.
We just can not sit back and do nothing , so we decided to host this race in her memory.
Sabine was bravely battling cancer and fought to the very end so this race will be run and all proceeds will be given to Cancer Research.
We will be using Assetto Corsa as the Simulator and the Ford Transit as the vehicle driven.
All Transits, must have a Photo that we will supply of Sabine on the rear of each Van but you are free to do a livery in your colour scheme should you wish.
It might also be fitting to have photos on the Van of people you have lost or a colur scheme dear to you.

Is it possible to get under the 10 minute lap time? Will that be you?
